Dietetics
The Nutrition and Dietetics team is made up of registered dietitians and a dietetic assistant. They work across all three of our sites; King's Mill Hospital, Newark Hospital and Mansfield Community Hospital providing dietetic care for both inpatients and outpatients.
Dietitians work in close liaison with other health professionals, including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and speech and language therapists.
Dietetic services
We provide evidence-based dietetic assessment, dietary advice, nutritional intervention and support to patients, their carers and all staff involved in patient care.
The main aim of this advice is to prevent or correct nutrition-related symptoms and disease.
Our team provides expertise in a wide range of specialities, including:
- Malnutrition
- Critical care
- Gastroenterology
- Diabetes
- Neonatal care
- Paediatrics and adolescents
- Allergy
- Oncology.
Dietitians also advise the Trust on nutritional standards by being part of the Nutrition Steering Committee, and patients and staff catering groups.
