Choosing your place of birth

If you are booked with King's Mill Hospital you can choose to give birth at home cared for by our Community Midwives, or in our Sherwood Birthing unit cared for by the Midwives and Doctors if needed.

You can discuss your wishes at any point in your pregnancy and at around 34-36 weeks of pregnancy you will have an appointment with your Community Midwife to discuss your preferred birthing environment. 

You have the right to choose where you give birth. You can choose to give birth in our hospital, or at home.
