Welcome Treatment Centre
The Welcome Treatment Centre provides care and treatments for patients with Haematological and Oncological disorders. Care is also provided for some Gastroenterology and Rheumatology patients.
The Centre is situated in Clinic 9, (below Clinic 3, blood room). There are 17 chairs: 10 on the main unit and seven within three side rooms. Privacy and dignity are maintained at all times with the use of curtains and screens when appropriate.
The Welcome Treatment Centre is designed for patients who are receiving short treatments and do not require an overnight stay in hospital. We have limited space on the unit, so we encourage patients to attend by themselves; however, in exceptional diagnosed medical circumstances, we can accommodate one person to stay with the patient. For short treatments, relatives are encouraged to wait in our spacious waiting room.
We try to keep the patients reassured whilst undergoing treatments. We have added artwork to brighten our unit. Those patients that are lucky enough to attend on a Friday can be treated to a free prize bingo game if time allows. We have a facility that can enable a single patient to watch a film or play games to entertain patients who are spending the day with us. Patients can also access Wifi to access the internet for themselves on phones or iPads.
