Newark Hospital says thank you to community for lifting their spirits during tough times

Children from the local community in and around Newark Hospital have been posting their beautiful rainbow paintings to the hospital to help brighten things up.

The initiative began when some staff at the hospital started bringing in their pictures of rainbows that were made by their children and grandchildren.

The theme soon spread outside of the department to the glass corridor, and more and more people started to send pictures in made by their own families.

Business Support Manager, Karen Hage, who is part of the team who originally brought the pictures in said: “Our glass corridor, which runs through the centre of Newark Hospital, is now a sea of colour and is very uplifting for all the staff that are working during this difficult time. It is a brilliant reminder every day of how people appreciate our efforts, thank you to everyone who has sent a picture in.”

If you would like to send a rainbow picture to Newark Hospital please post it in an envelope addressed to: Medical Records Team, Newark Hospital, Boundary Road, Newark, NG24 4DE.
