Results from the latest National Cancer Patient Experience Survey show that Sherwood Forest Hospital has improved its care rating.

The latest report shows that Sherwood Forest Hospitals’ patients scored 8.9 for their cancer care, which is above the National average of 8.8. The hospital Trust is also rated as one of the top performing Trusts in the East Midlands on the overall score and across most of the key questions asked in the region.

The national survey, conducted in 2019, is designed to observe progress on cancer care and drive local improvements on quality and care. The survey is managed by a national Cancer Patient Experience Advisory Group, who set the objectives of the survey and develops the questionnaire.

Penny Tindall, Trust Lead Cancer Nurse at Sherwood Forest Hospitals is delighted by the results and says:

“The results from this year’s National Cancer Patient Experience Survey are fantastic and testament to the hard work and dedication of the Cancer teams here at Sherwood Forest Hospitals. We are delighted to be one of the top performing Trusts in the East Midlands for our overall care rating especially as this feedback comes from our patients. The results from the survey really support us in our ambition to provide timely, high quality and outstanding care and service. It is reassuring to know that we are focusing on the right things for our patients and gives us the confidence and drive to maintain a great service and continue on our journey of improvement.”
