Our volunteers make a great impact on the services we provide at the hospital and dedicate their spare time to helping our staff and patients. Thank you to all our volunteers for all that you do.
- Volunteer David is a constant support to our buggy and Way Finder services, and he received his 15 -year long service award this month. He is committed to providing great care for our patients and visitors.
- Volunteer Peter was also proud to receive his 15 year – award. Peter has supported hospital radio for over 50 years, spending the last 15 years at Millside Radio. Thank you, Peter, for your invaluable contribution.
- We were happy to extend a warm welcome to new volunteer Alison, as she undertook her induction in the Daffodil Café this month.
- We were pleased to welcome 16-year-old Vaishali into Newark Hospital to gain some experience of hospital life in support of her application to study medicine or biochemistry after her A Levels.
Alongside our regular volunteers, we are also delighted to be supporting the Aspiring Medics programme in our volunteer areas. This scheme gives students aged 16+ who are considering a career in a medical field the opportunity to sample hospital life in both clinical and on-clinical areas.
