The public are being invited to learn more about the project to bring thousands more health checks to Nottinghamshire, as the team behind Nottinghamshire's first Community Diagnostics Centre prepare to host their latest information event about the project next month.
Sherwood Forest Hospitals is hosting its third information session next month for local people and members of staff to learn more about the building works and discover how the Mansfield Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) is already helping the local community, with over 18,000 diagnostic tests delivered before the completion of the purpose-built facility.
Additionally, attendees can explore employment opportunities at the CDC new site, which is set to open in spring 2025.
The Trust will be hosting its third information event at Mansfield Community Hospital between 1pm and 6pm on Thursday 6 June, with the event being hosted in its main reception area of the site in Stockwell Gate.
The Centre will replace the derelict building of the former Mansfield Victoria Hospital, which evolved from a workhouse.
Amanda Barrett, the Trust's Programme Manager for the project, said: "Nottinghamshire's first Community Diagnostic Centre is a really exciting development for the local area, which will bring with it thousands more health checks each year, as well as creating dozens of jobs for local people.
"This event is a fantastic opportunity for our patients and the local community to come and see our exciting plans for themselves - and even learn how they could become a part of the team who will one day be working at the Centre when it opens."
Sherwood Forest Hospitals continue to encourage local residents with stories, photographs, or information about the historic Mansfield Victoria Hospital to share these with us.
