A drop-in clinic that enables patients, visitors and hospital staff to get information and support about dementia has received a boost thanks to a donation.
The monthly clinic at King’s Mill Hospital has received a donation of £885 for rotating leaflet stands through the Sherwood Forest Hospitals’ Dragon’s Den 2024, which allows teams to bid for up to £5,000 for an improvement idea that will enrich the patient and carer experience in their area of work.
The Dragon’s Den project is funded by volunteers at King’s Mill Hospital with profits from the hospital’s Daffodil café and fundraising stall.
The drop-in clinic enables people to ask the Dementia Specialist team questions, receive signposting to services and information, get emotional support and potentially avoid a hospital admission.
If you or your loved one is a Sherwood Forest Hospitals’ patient living with dementia and needs support, you can contact the team at sfh.tr-dementia@nhs.net.
