Your first appointment
At your first visit, you'll usually meet a physiotherapist or an advanced clinical practitioner. This appointment can take up to 40 minutes. Most of the time, you'll come to see us in person, but sometimes we can talk over the phone if needed.
We’ll ask you about your symptoms, daily activities, and work. You’ll also be asked to think about goals you'd like to reach while working with us. After that, you’ll do some simple movements so we can find out what’s causing your pain. Together, we’ll make a plan to help you feel better and reach your goals.
The plan might include advice and exercises to help you take care of yourself. If we think you need more tests, treatments, you care can be escalated to one of our advanced practitioners or to the Orthopaedic consultant team.
Seeing an Orthopaedic Doctor
If you need to see an Orthopaedic doctor, you will be referred via the MSK Hub. The doctor will check your condition, and you’ll talk about possible treatments, like surgery. The doctor will explain the good and bad sides of each option so you can decide what’s best for you.
You don’t need to see your GP to use the MSK Together service.
Self-Referral to Physiotherapy
