What to expect in your face-to-face appointment

What will happen at your appointment

You and your clinician will talk about your symptoms and health history. They might need to look at or touch the area causing you trouble, but only if you’re okay with it.

What should I wear?

The clinician might ask you to remove or roll up clothes to see the problem area, like your knee, back, or shoulder. Wear loose, comfy clothes. If it’s a knee problem, shorts are a good idea. If it’s your back or shoulder, wear a vest under your clothes to make it easier.

Who will I see?

You’ll see a fully trained clinician. Our team includes both men and women. You’ll get the clinician’s name when you book. If you’d like to see a man or a woman, let us know before your appointment, and we’ll do our best to arrange it.

Feel free to bring a family member or friend to your appointment. They can ask questions too and help you remember what is said and take notes.

Don’t be afraid to tell your healthcare professional if you don’t understand what they’ve said, ask them to explain things to you again.

What happens after the assessment?

The clinician will talk with you about your treatment options and how they can help. Together, you’ll make a plan for your care.
