Infection Control
We take infection control very seriously in order to keep our patients safe and free from infection. People who are unwell are at more risk of catching an infection so cleanliness within our hospitals is crucial.
If you are preparing to visit one of our hospitals we urge you not to do so if you have any signs of illness, particularly if you have any cold, flu or Covid-like symptoms, diarrhoea and/or vomiting in the past three days, or if you have been in contact with anyone who has had these types of illness as you may pass the illness on to your relative or friend.
Hand hygiene
Please ensure that you wash your hands on arrival at the hospital or use the hand sanitiser provided and frequently during the time you are on the ward or in the department.
Ward cleaning
Our wards are cleaned regularly throughout the day and we follow the national cleaning standards, which have been designed to provide a simple standard for effective cleaning within hospitals. If you have any questions or concerns about the cleanliness of any of our wards, please speak to the Ward Leader.
