Supporting Sherwood Forest Hospitals Charity this Easter

Easter may seem like a long way off, but we are already getting lots of enquiries from kind-hearted supporters asking about donating chocolate eggs for our patients.
Although the thought is kind, not all patients can eat chocolate or sweets because of dietary and medical issues.
Instead of donating sweet treats, supporters are instead encouraged to consider donating to Sherwood Forest Hospitals Charity or buying an item from the charity’s Amazon Wishlist.
It is quick and easy to donate money - either online, at the Community Involvement Hub at King's Mill or Newark hospitals, or by phoning 01623 676011 to pay by card.
Supporters can choose to donate to a specific service, ward or clinic or to the charity’s general fund, which is used to provide improvements and enhancements where required across the Trust’s three hospitals.
If you’d prefer to donate a gift, items such as socks, a toiletry gift set, an activity pack, jigsaw or blanket can really help to boost morale for patients, the majority of whom are adults and older people.
Jo Thornley, Community Involvement Manager, said: “While we are incredibly grateful to everyone who supports our charity, please consider making a small monetary donation as the benefits of this will last far longer than an Easter egg.
“Even small amounts of money add up and can go towards providing innovative pieces of equipment that fall outside of NHS funding.”
